Guinness Extra Stout
My first encounter with Guinness took place in a small pub somewhere in the west of Ireland not terribly far from Galway. I was staying at a bed-and-breakfeast for several days and touring the western wilds. One afternoon the family I was staying with invited me to a hurling match. The match was a regional game between two rival villages and was accompanied by a good deal of excitement and thunder. Following the match was a swing by a local pub where the plays were discussed in detail and the Guinness flowed as if from a stream out back of the place. Guinness, it gave me strength...
