This list includes all microphones that I could find (So: not all mics) with sensitivities down to -33 dB. I also specifically highlight those few mics that use RF-bias technology as they are most resistant to humidity.
Note that few manufactures list all the specs contained in my list. I have had to review the specifications on EVERY microphone listed here. Where certain parameters are missing there is generally enough other data for me to calculate the missing data and add it to my list. This list is therefor about as complete as you will find anywhere.
Two additional items to take note of:
1) I include on the list two mics with less than -33 dB sensitivity, Sennheiser MKH 8040 and Schoeps CCM 4. I do this because Telinga offers a version of their dish with the Schoeps CCM 4 cardioid included. It is worth to know at the outset just how very LOW sensitivity this microphone actually is. I include the Sennheiser MKH 8040 cardioid as a better alternative to that awful Schoeps as the MKH 8040 is RF-Biased/moisture resistant and has slightly higher sensitivity.
2) I include the DPA 4041 as an example of a fine high-sensitivity mic with an otherwise OVER THE TOP price point. Mic manufactures are wierd.
