Sennheiser MKH 8020

[Ed. Note: The MKH 8020 is an end address omni-directional pencil RF condenser microphone. The microphone is RF biased, humidity resistant and according to Sennheiser suitable for recording in harsh environments. It has high sensitivity (-30 dB) and low self noise (10 dBA, 21 dB CCIR).
At $1400 a pop I am unsure I wish to test this in the humid outdoor Houston environment. It is beyond my personal budget, but maybe not yours.

Note that if its a cardioid mic you hanker for there is the MKH 8040, but that mic has -34 dB sensitivity and 13 dB self noise, somewhat lower specs than the 8020.]

$1399

* Symmetrical transducer technology ensures extremely low distortion
* Extremely wide frequency response for an optimum resolution of the finest details
